MOZART'S THREE LAST SYMPHONIES

FRI June 29, 2018 20:00 | Seoul Arts Center, Concert Hall

Markus Stenz, conductor

W.A.Mozart, Symphony No. 39 in E-flat major, K.543

W.A.Mozart, Symphony No. 40 in G minor, K.550

------------------------

W.A.Mozart, Symphony No. 41 in C major, K.551 ‘Jupiter’

Running Time: 110mins(incl. intermission)

The story of Mozart’s life is surrounded by legends – but none of them is as incredible as the truth. In just a few short weeks in the summer of 1788, Mozart composed his three final symphonies. Each one is perfect, but together they add up to a complete musical portrait of Mozart as both man and artist. Tonight, in a very special concert, Markus Stenz and the SPO play the trilogy complete, starting with the gloriously mellow No.39 and ending with the grandeur of No.41, the so-called “Jupiter” symphony. In between comes the tragic 40th: some of the most personal music even Mozart ever wrote. An unforgettable night with one of music’s most beautiful minds.
