Schumann, Symphony No. 1, Op. 38 'Spring'

“When birds do sing, hey ding a ding, ding / Sweet lovers love the spring”. Shakespeare’s words could be the motto for Robert Schumann’s “Spring” Symphony. Schumann was young, gifted, and madly in love with the beautiful young pianist Clara Wieck so when he overcame her family’s objections and finally married her, his happiness simply bubbled over. You will too.
