1st Violin
Sangmee Huh 허상미
(Assistant Principal)PROFILE
Born in 1981, sangmee HUH , starting violin at the age of 9 under Prof Ho-Young PI in Seoul. After graduation at Seoul National University under Prof. hae-eun HYUN, sangmee studied further violin with Olivier Charlier in Conservatory of Paris (CNSMDP). And then She continued to study in Hochschule für Musik in Köln in Germany , where she recieved the Konzertexamen Diplom with Mihaela Martin.
Sangmee is winner in many national competition as 2nd Prize of Josun journal competition, first prize in Nanpa music competition in Korea. Also she is a winner of many international competitions such as in '2.Internationalen Henri Marteau Violinwettbewerb’ (3rd Prize ) and special prize for 'best Mozart-Interpretation'in Lichtenberg in Germany in 2005, and 1st Prize in 'Le Parnasse' (Vatlot/Rampal) Violin concours (Paris), 2nd Prize in Concours 'Flame' (Paris)in 2006, 3rd Prize in Lions- Musikpreis in Hessen in Germany in 2008. With this honorable prize she played with Orchestra Bel- Arte in cityhall in Levallois and also played tour concert in 5 cities in Hessen (Frankfurt, Kassel, Salz wildungen etc )with Virtuosi Brunensis.
While finishing her diplom in Konzertexamen in Cologne, she also had a chance to play in orchestra of radio in Cologne in Germany (WDR sinfonieorchester) in first violin group and she experienced as orchestra member in Germany for two years. And then she joined in Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra as assistant principal in 1st violin since 2010.
She is passionate also for playing in chamber concert as member of the archi music society and as a member of Ensemble ‘Unisson’ , also she teaches in Sungshin women’s university as adjunct professor and also teaches in Duckwon arts high school .
