But what’s beyond question is that the American pianist Emanuel Ax is one of the supreme musicians of our time, utterly devoted to the inner truth of everything he plays, and in this - his debut appearance with the Seoul Philharmonic - he’ll bring a lifetime’s artistry to bear on Beethoven’s darkest piano concerto. Jaap van Zweden will be with him every step of the way, before venturing out into the wide open spaces(and unforgettable melodies) of Dvořák’s beloved ‘New World’ symphony. A night to remember.
