Roll over Beethoven: Ludwig van Beethoven was a rising piano star himself when he wrote his spirited Quintet for piano and winds - so who better to play it today than Kit Armstrong, the young American composer and pianist who’s been described as “phenomenal” by the great Alfred Brendel himself? Together with a handpicked team of Seoul Philharmonic players, he’ll explore Beethoven’s legacy - the ardent, dreamy Piano Quartet that Robert Schumann wrote when he was in love, and a real treat from one of Beethoven’s own pupils: the uproarious “Miltary Septet” by Johann Nepomuk Hummel. Sound the trumpet!
