There will be pre-concert talk by Richard Egarr.
Harpsichordist Richard Egarr is a phenomenon: a world-famous expert on baroque music whose personal passions embrace everything from Bach to K-Pop! For Egarr, every concert is a celebration, and even the smallest piece is filled with personality. Handel wrote his Trio Sonatas in Georgian London, and he meant them to be played at home by skilled music lovers. But genius will find a way: and these short chamber works are packed with all the imagination, drama and melody that made Handel the greatest opera composer of his age. With the help of players from the SPO, Egarr will make them live again today.
