Kim Wookyung
TenorTenor Wookyung Kim has studied at Hanyang University in Korea. After he completed his bachelor’s degree in Korea, he moved to Germany for Meister Klasse at the Academy of Music in Muninch.
Wookyung Kim was awarded several prizes in various notable international competitions, including First Prize at the JungAng Music Competition (Korea), Plácido Domingo-Competition OPERALIA (Los Angeles), Mirjam Helin International Singing Competition (Finland) and rancisco-Viñas-Competition (Barcelona)
Kim has performed as main roles in numerous operas in various stages around the world, and has actively performed at the world’s three prestigious opera houses - Metroplitan in New York, Covent Graden in England and La Scala in Italy. He has frequently performed religious music by Handel, Mozart, Beethoven and Verdi with the Vienna Philharmonic and the Staatskapelle Dresden, and is also in high demand as an Oratorio singer.
Wookyung Kim is currently a professor and Head of Voice at Hanyang University and he actively performs as a professional vocalist internationally.
