Former Korean national football team coach Guus Hiddink, right, is presented with a certificate appointing him as the honorary ambassador of the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra (SPO) at a ceremony at Seoul City Hall, Monday. Best known for leading the Korean national football team to unprecedented semifinals during the 2002 World Cup, the Dutchman holds honorary Korean citizenship and Seoul honorary citizenship. From left are Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon and Jaap van Zweden, the SPO's current music director, sharing the same nationality as Hiddink. The appointment marks the SPO's first selection of an honorary ambassador, with the mayor expressing hopes that the strong leadership and passion of both Hiddink and van Zweden will enhance the orchestra's prestige.
